The 32nd Anniversary of the Brookline Breeze
5K Race and Fitness Walk is focused on fitness for the whole family! Bring your
family to Brookline Park for a fun and exciting run or walk, and stay to enjoy the
live music and entertainment! The Breeze offers a 5K Run, 5K Walk, 5K Wheelchair
Competition, 1-Mile Fun Run and a 1-Mile Dog Walk. The 5K race is sanctioned by
the USATF (Three Rivers) and timing is provided by Runners High.
The Breeze Day events are geared for running and fitness enthusiasts of all ages and
skill levels. There is something for everyone at the Brookline Breeze.
The 5K course begins at Brookline Park and
follows Brookline Boulevard to Pioneer Avenue. A left turn leads to a turn-around
near West Liberty Avenue, then back again. The 3.1 mile route begins with an
uphill climb to the Commercial District, then levels off. Once past the midway point
it's all downhill. The post-race activities include the awards presentation and
the raffling off of $1000 in gift prizes.
The Breeze Day celebration now includes the
annual Boulevard BreezeFest and Community Festival, a neighborhood celebration
with vendors and children's activities along Brookline Boulevard. Activities include
the Citiparks Roving Art Cart, Moon Bounces, Ballon Artists, a Dunk Tank, Inflatable
Slide and a Scavenger Hunt!
